    Logging into the Portal

Discover how to logon to the administration portal in this section of the guide.

    How to Login

As an administrator or supervisor user, you have a secure web address, or URL through which you access the portal.

You should keep this URL as a favorite, or bookmark, in your internet browser.

    To login, follow these steps:

    • Navigate to the Portal URL.
    • Provide the Microsoft credentials associated to your account.
    Tip

Cxp uses Microsoft Office365 credentials to log you in. You may need to provide these credentials when you first logon. Your browser may be able to store these details and provide your credentials automatically. This is dependent on your browser, browser version, and local security policy.

    • Users configured to use multiple Cxp tenants may select one at login. Select your tenant to complete the process.

You are now logged in. The top right corner will display your user name as well as the name of the tenant you are currently logged into.

    Microsoft License Requirements

Cxp does not require any Microsoft license. However, Cxp requires personnel wishing to log in to possess a Microsoft account. There are generally two ways to acquire a Microsoft account, see below.

    Using Microsoft Entra ID (AAD)

Most of our customers have a Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) license, and the service configured for their own internal corporate usage. Among many others, this involves registering all their employees in this directory thereby generating a Microsoft account for them. Whenever an employee of these companies use Cxp, they log in with their corporate credentials.

    Not Having Microsoft Entra ID

Having an explicit, configured Microsoft Entra ID (AAD) is not a requirement however. Customers not using Microsoft corporate directory services can have their employees register a free Microsoft account to be used with Cxp.

    1. As the user, log on to https://account.microsoft.com and click Sign in.

    2. As you don't yet have an account, click the "No account? Create one" link.

    3. Enter your corporate email address (or in fact any of your existing ones, it does not have to be with Microsoft at all), and proceed filling any other info required, then verify the account with the email address entered.

    4. You are now having a legitimate Microsoft account with your corporate (or any other existing) email address. This can be used to work with Cxp.

    Note

While a full corporate Microsoft Entra is not required in order to log in to Cxp, some functionalities depend on it.

Features Unavailable Without Microsoft Entra ID

While Cxp works for customers without a dedicated and configured Microsoft Entra ID, the following features and functionalities are unavailable for them:

    Feature Notes
Power BI historical reporting These reports are consumed in Microsoft Power BI Desktop or Online applications/services, that require a Microsoft Entra ID corporate directory and its admin consent functionalities. See Accessing Power BI for more. Note however, that programmatic access to our ODATA reporting data feed works no problem.
Listing corporate directory entries Obviously going to be unavailable / empty on the Portal as well as in the Agent interface. This does not affect the Contact Directories function, which is a Cxp-native functionality.
Email media As Cxp relies on Microsoft email features, not having a Microsoft Entra ID service renders this completely unavailable.
